According to customs data, China's steel exports surged to 9.224 million tons in April, marking a 16.3% year-on-year increase or a 1.292 million ton rise. However, this figure represents a 3.6% decrease compared to the previous month's 9.890 million tons. Concurrently, steel imports rose to 658,000 tons, up by 12.5% from last year, with a monthly increase of 41,000 tons or a 10.2% hike.
From January to April, China's cumulative steel exports reached 35.024 million tons, reflecting a significant 27% year-on-year increase, while cumulative steel imports stood at 2.405 million tons, down by 3.7% compared to the same period last year.
